There is a homebrew game for modded psp's that's called psprevolution. Its just like step mania and you use the directional pad and face buttons to hit notes. It also supports simfiles just like step mania.

I started out playing 2 footers, then I quickly moved on to the hardest pad songs from the real DDR game. But then I found out about much harder song packs. So I downloaded Keyboard Collaberation 1. I found it way too hard but after playing for a few weeks I was able to play quiet a few of the songs. Then I downloaded more songpacks like SMGroove and Redfraction pack which I have been playing for over a month. I've gotten much much better since.

I can now play 8 footers easily, and some 9 footers. But I find that my thumbs start hurting a lot when I play 10 footers and higher so I can't finish them or the notes come so fast I can barely recognize what they are.

So my question is for any of you who have played PSPRevolution, how long did it take you to be able to play 10 footers and harder, if you were even able to do so? What is a good way to practice to get better and be able to play 10 to 12 footers?

Yes you do, but it works with both M33 and OE custom firmwares.

i had this when i had PSP. I wrecked like all my packs then stop playing it. Jumpstreams are impossible btw

Why not play with your fingers? Set the PSP on your lap or something.

I'm trying that but its hard to hit down the directional pad with fingers fast :/ Should I only use the face buttons, I'm not sure what to do.

Yeah. I play with it on my lap as though it were a keyboar, with my left hand middle finger and index finer on down and left, while my right hand index and middle fingers are on triangle and O.
What are 10 footers?

And yes jumpstreams are impossible on PSPR.

if you really wanna play good. you use your thumbs like they would be your feet on the dance pad. left thumb left foot. right thumb right foot.

Example. < v ^ > would be

left with left thumb. down with right thumb. up with left thumb and right with right thumb.

has long has the charts don't have double steps you are good.

I've seen quite a few of the PSPR threads. We should make an official PSPR Dicsussion thread and try to get it stickied.

*EDIT* I played the way gypsyboyps3 mentioned when I started, and it was hard as hell. How do you guys get used to that?

it's possible, just train ^^
