    University Research

    Helloooo =]

    I'm hoping this is an okay place to post this and that the kind mods allow me to do so

    I'm currently in the final year of my BSc in Computer Games Technology and for my Dissertation I'm creating a basic Rhythm Action Game and also doing a lot of research into the games themselves in an effort to try and predict how popular a particular Rhythm Action Game may be on the market depending on its game elements.

    (The game is in no way any competition to FFR, its merely for coursework and I dont plan on it going live or anything)

    Anyway, I'll get to the point

    I would be greatly appreciative if you nice people would consider filling out a questionnaire to help with my research. They are annonymous and I have full ethical approval to carry out such studies. If you'd like to know more just PM or email me.

    If you are interested in helping out (it takes like 5 minutes) that would be awesome. The questionnaire can be downloaded from:

    It has text boxes over all the answer parts so you can just go right ahead and fill it out in word easily enough. (I thought it would be better to do it this way rather than copying the questions out and putting them in this post because theres both open and closed questions). If you do decide to fill it out can you please send it to this email:

    [email protected] (created especially).

    Also theres a more general gaming questionnaire at http://www.digital-renegades.co.uk/stuff/games.doc

    I would however prefer that if you were to only do one of the two, that you do the first because you are all players of rhythm action games (as you play FFR).

    Anyway, I hope some of you are bored enough to help me out!

    A lot of younger people play this game, you're not going to get as many replies limiting the age range as you have. If it's not critical to the research I'd lower it to at least 10+ to get the majority.

      Why would you do this? The forum is only open to people who are 13+, so there goes 10-12 year olds. I would agree to maybe having a choice for 13-17, as there are still plenty of people here in that age range.

        Ah, I didn't know it was age limited, makes sense though -- that it is. Even though, they might lie about their age to get forum use and then perhaps not lie when they're filling out the survey. Who knows.

            Openoffice didn't put all the tickboxes in the right spots but I got it filled out anyway. Contact me over a messenging client instead of email ok?

              The reason its 18+ age ranges is because its against the law to ask anyone anything for research unless they are adults. It is possible to get ethical approval to ask children things, but its a much longer and complicated process than the basic ethical approval I already have...Its all bearaucracy and basically it really sucks but I have to stick to it =/

              Remember guys feel free to email it rather than uploading it and stuff. Thanks for your interest so far
