    Supernova PS2 Thread

    Discuss...

Me and my friend picked up Supernova... after jamings on teh Pianos they had at ToyZ R Us we proceeded to the mall where I got some buy one get two free cokes from the coke machine... We did not play DDR sadly cus of no $$... So after that we went to his house after pickin up a borrowed pad from another one of dem people who always see you play DDR and R like "ILL BUY THAT GAME BUT NEVERR EVER REALLY PLAY IT EXCEPT ONES LOL!"...

The starting list was not that bad when it comes to steps. Believe it or not... Dance, Dance actually had pretty good steps... really good for a Pop song. It was an 8 footer and it deserved it...

I will say this. I was happy with a few starter songs and pretty happy with the starting lists steps... but... The unlockables so far dont seem to great to me... I am a big fan of streams and I see a lot of crappy steps for the unlockables... Songs that jave really lame and zzzzzz chaos steps

Discuss the game, the unlockables, and what your opinion on it is...

NO! DO NOT BUY IT! Serious. I played yesterday. I think the game was horrible. I think it has to be the worse release of DDR EVER. (My Opionion.) However, I do think there is this one bugwith saving the game because everytime I tryed to save the game, I get currpted data. =\ Its not the memory card or the ps2. They are fine. And yes, it has penty of space on it to.

But yea, I don't like it because the songs just pretty much sucked. I didnt get to any of the unlockables thou. I couldnt save the game so... =\ But yea, I am thinking about returning it or something. It was such a waste of money. I'd rather play extreme 2 or something then supernova.

If it sucks that bad, then I'm glad my PS2 broke. LOL.
Well, I can't play Extreme either, so it doesn't matter, ah well. D:

If that song-list hold true for the arcade, I might have a reason to dust off my dancing shoes and come out of retirement.

The PS2 has no repeats from previous PS2 versions, and very small amount of EXTREME songs (the only one I can remember that was an EXTREME debut was The Least 100 Seconds.) The game contains about half of the new content found in the arcade version, including all the new 10-footers. Along with those songs there're some new remixes of the new Supernova songs, and if you have a PS2 connected online, you can play 5 more songs, including a new 10-footer (it's a shame that they're online exclusive. T_T)

All in all, this is the best DDR PS2 release ever. Many of the licensed songs recieved good stepcharts (Battle Without Honor or Humanity FTW), and the game presents a much better layout then previous versions.

EDIT: Okay, the cover of "Shout" and "Come Clean" sound completely craptastic.

The game contains about half of the new content found in the arcade version, including all the new 10-footers. Along with those songs there're some new remixes of the new Supernova songs, and if you have a PS2 connected online, you can play 5 more songs, including a new 10-footer (it's a shame that they're online exclusive.

                      I'm buying it rofl.

Hopefully you preordered the game at a Gamestop or EBGames so you could get that new V-Rare. Word says that it's pretty damn good, and I'd have to agree.

And speaking of ITG, it seems that ITG2 CS has slipped out of the radar. Something tells me it won't be heard from again for a really, really long time. In the meantime, best to stick with the DDR release.

Oh, and some of the missions in Stellar Master Mode (the mode that unlocks songs the quickest) are hardcore hard. Good luck trying to beat them.

                            Here's my take on it...

stellar master mode is a tad easy... I bought the game friday night and by monday midday i was 95% done... then again i guess this is because i have no life... but that's beside the point xD

my problem with the game is the lack of good paranoias and trip machine unlockables... unless they are only unlocked after you get 100% or something, i haven't seen a single one. I'm pretty sure I have all but two of the songs (fascination and fascination max)...

game mode is cool, but i'm not too big of a fan of 'basic, difficult, expert' and such... old school 'light, standard, heavy' was good for me...

also what's up with ps2 and the stupid biased scoring??? 10000000 for AAA on beginner AND on expert??? wtf??? lol... when will they get it right!

but in all fairness.... YAY I CAN AA WITH A GOOD OMFG ! lol...

that's it in a nutshell... ties max 2 as my favorite ddr ps2 game, mainly because it has suckie biased scoring (unlike max 2....) and no paranoia/trip machine songs (that i've seen as of yet...) ....

                            8/10 stars from me.
