I think he meant on a pad.
The best way I can think of is to spin. Left on 4, right on 2, left on 6 (crossover), then pivot on your left and hit 8 with your right, then go back to 4 with your left.
Of course, what good is my word around here? >_<Originally posted by thesunfanI literally spent 10 minutes in the library looking for the TWG forum on Smogon and couldn't find it what the fuck is this witchcraft IGR

RE: Re: RE: 42684 pattern
As long as you can set yourself up for it, the best way is hit 4 with your right, 2 with your left, 6 with your right, 8 with your left, and 4 with your right. You will have to start and end with a crossover though, so you have to either already be positioned or have enough time to set up for it.
If not, then either a spin (igotrythm's post), which I think is the most fun, or, there is another way that will work decently. 4 with your left, 2 with your right, 6 with your left, completing the first normal crossover. To hit the 8, change the way you're turning (turn counterclockwise to hit this one) and hit 8 with your right, and then 4 with your left. It's hard to get used to and it feels weird, but sometimes it's easier than doing a spin.
And then there's always double stepping. It's not a good habit to get into, but for songs like Daikenkai, the ability to double step is a necessity. 4 with left, 2 with right, 6 with right, 8 with left, 4 with left.
It all depends on how fast the song is and what is before and after (but mostly before) the 42684.Comment

Re: RE: Re: RE: 42684 pattern
A good bit of Daikenkai can be completed using really weird spin patterns. However, you're right. Double-stepping -- Or shuffling, as it's also known -- can get to be a problem if you get too used to it. It hinders a lot of style while you're playing and, in my opinion, takes away from the experience sometimes.Originally posted by dAnceguy117It's not a good habit to get into, but for songs like Daikenkai, the ability to double step is a necessity.

Slide your feet along the pad. You can hit all the arrows and look like an idiot at the same time... But it is accurate and gets the job done.
