Re: Complain
I like threads like this.
However, I hate:
-The inability to distinguish between "your" and "you're". I especially hate the fact that they're not remotely difficult to tell apart, yet some still can't. Bad spelling and grammar is a general hate, actually. Spelling "lose" with two 'o's and failing to tell the difference between "to" and "too" are good examples.
-The way we will probably not solve crises that exist in the world today (famine, illness etc.) in my lifetime - and possibly ever. I hate that we will almost certainly never have harmony across the globe. I hate the way that the people in power that matter will never truly act to help others unless it helps them too. I hate the way we have an abundance of food and medical supplies in various stores, but can't find the basic decency to give it to the poorer nations. I also hate the way we need things like Comic Relief to bring poverty and struggles into the conscience of the masses.
-I hate homophobia, racism, sexism and all that stuff. So what if they are slightly different to you? It is not as if they are asking you to be gay, or black. They are plainly no less of a human because of it. I hate the lack of respect in the world. On a personal scale, I hate having long hair and getting insults thrown at me because of it. How can it possibly bother you what length my hair is? I'm not asking you to copy it, or stare at it until your eyes water, or even like it. I don't laugh at or comment on your boring, conform-to-the-norm hairstyle. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the same from you.
-I hate alcohol, drugs and smoking; although I have no problem whatsoever with people enjoying these things, as long as they don't commit crime(s) to finance it or pass the negative side effects on to anyone else.
-I hate reality TV. This is rather self-explanatory.
-I not only hate the way people will sue anyone and anything for any reason, but also that these insurance companies and lawyers will actually encourage you to do so. I hate the way you have to be ruthless and cynical to get anywhere in business. McDonalds having to introduce healthy meals, for example. People go to McDonalds and then complain that the food they serve is too unhealthy, and that their kids are fatter because they (the parents) didn't have a sufficient variety of healthy food to order them. Who goes to McDonalds to eat healthily?! Take an apple when you go. Even better, don't go. I hate the seriousness that has invaded the world.
-Although I am a great sports fan, I hate the way players in major sports are being paid stupid amounts of money, and not doing anything charitable with it (barring a select few). Ditto this for movie "stars" and other excessively wealthy people. Do you really need another mansion more than that poor African on the television needs food? Maybe the world would benefit more from having a couple more trees in the forests than you having another Ferrari. Just an idea.
-From a current events viewpoint, I hate the way people in Zimbabwe (amongst other countries in other situations) are being bullied into voting for the Mugabe regime, especially as it is all unnecessary violence, as Mugabe has claimed that if the opposition party wins (had won - seeing as they have been forced to back out) the election, he won't give (wouldn't have given) up presidency anyway.
-I hate the way it is highly unlikely I will ever leave this planet and visit space, despite the fact it has always been my main dream in life. I also hate the way I was born in the 1980's, when I really want to have been born around 2050 so I can see some proper technological advances.
I also agree with ap19.
I think our biggest deficiency is being human.
*EDIT* I hate the irony of me spelling "self-explanatory" and "unnecessary" wrong despite criticising those who can't spell
.
