That would be a bit unfair right now would it not? People like bill clinton have 6000+ posts, it would be impossible to catch them right now.

Also, then it would encourage even more spamming, you'd have people sitting in the thread posting 1000 times and it would get boring to even go near the thread.

I agree.
A lot of PMSers are going to get pissed when some *** hits a mil on his first post and isint even logged into a PMS account.

i remember when luelinks was aiming to get the millionth topic made

there was no incentive and they completly crashed the website for like 20 minutes lol same thing will happen here

I think that rewarding the biggest poster, second biggest poster, and so on, would be a bigger incentive to post than getting the 1 millionth post. Especially if this thread were stickied, stating that he could win a prize.

I know that LD implemented something which banned autoclickers by detecting the rhythm of the clicks, way back when he was selling that free copy of ITG. Maybe something similar could be implemented in 1mil get to prevent someone from using a macro to automatically get free posts.

Ok prize handout still remains the same:

1,000,000th poster wins $500, no matter what.

HOWEVER: I will be rewarding the top 3 posters along with Synth's $100, so that they will be receiving extra just for their efforts.
