The basic problem is caused by settings on your wireless router. These settings also make it difficult to connect to multiplayer. For help with solving these issues, see this thread for details.
However, there is a temporary workaround if you don't want to mess with your router or if you still can't get in after following the instructions in the above thread. I use this method every day because I still can't get in myself. Follow the steps below and you'll be able to get in. It's a little annoying, I know, but it works for now.
1) Wait for the "Connection Failed" message.
2) Right-Click in the chat window.
3) Select the "Play" option. "Disconnected" will appear on the screen.
4) Repeat steps 2 and 3. This will basically reset the chat for you and it will try again. If you get the "Connection Failed" message again, repeat the process. Sometimes it takes a few times.
For some reason this seems to work even though refreshing your browser doesn't. Try this process if you're having trouble getting into profile chat. If you're still having issues, let me know. The only way to really fix the issue is to work with the settings in your wireless router or bypass the wireless altogether and get your internet straight from the wall.
