When you update your list, anyone who's deleted you will not show up.

The only reason I can think of for losing all of those friends is because the way profiles got friends and displayed friends was changed a ways back and I remember having to friend people again. However, I think this was in 2007 at some point so I doubt this was the cause.

I don't see the a way your friends list will be repopulated automatically, so I would go around and friend people again. A lot of people here tend to look down on people who friend everyone they see just to have the biggest friends list, but if that's what you're after, then go for it and don't worry about the jerks in here.

And on that note, there's a lot of unnecessary posting in here. A profile is for whatever its owner wants it to be for. If that's a huge friends list, neat. If it's to house thousands of *clean* pictures, more power to them. If it's for decorating and prettifying, awesome. If it's for chatting, that works too.
