Whenever I connect to profile chat, it says I'm not logged in on the screen and gives me "register a username so you can type" or something where the typing box would normally be. Now I figured this was because there was work being done on profiles, but maybe others are having the same problem and the maintenance had nothing to do with it... Any clue what's going on, anyone?

Yeah I'm having that same problem. I too thought it was just maintenance but I haven't been able to get in profile chat for almost a week now.
Tried clearing cache and all, nothing seems to work, running the latest firefox, not to mention this is a brand spanking new laptop, so there shouldn't be something wrong on my end.Comment

ok, I am going to change a setting here and restart the webserver, let me know if it changes anything.

Turned off server based gzip compression. Try to logout and log back in and let me know if that solves it.Comment

Latest firefox install - clean, no add-ons. ver. 1.8.20070.25881
ISP - Comcast cable
Linksys wireless router.

makeshift solution to the problem (for me) is making a comment on my own wall, and then deleting it, then logging back in.. equally weird, lol.Comment

ISP: Unkown, perhaps Cox Comm T1 - 100MB
My Setup:
Windows XP Home SP2
Firefox 2.0.0.7
ISP: Orbitel Comm 6MB
It seems to only happen in Firefox by the way.

when you see this, you need to Control R, as for some reason, its not seeing you as logged in. We will check on that and see whats going on with it .. as synth said above, thats just odd.
