So, a while ago I was playing Vertex BETA and I realised there were a couple parts in the file that made me question the difficulty a little bit. I figured it was the long bits of stream and the trills that comes before and after each section of fast stream. I was just wondering what you guys think. Should Vertex BETA stay a 10 or should it be bumped back up to 11?

Mid-high 10 MAX.
There are no difficultly-placed jumps compared to say, System Failure or K8107. It's long and streamy, but that's about it. It's actually not very draining at all.The above post has a 50% chance of being useless. Potentially. Maybe.

The main stressed concept of the song is stream, and there's not much else to it (aside from the two one-handed trills, which can be jumped if you time it perfectly). Due to a lack of technicality, I'm saying 10.Comment

Its a 10, It takes a little speed and consistency for the stream and the only hard part on this song is the 1 handed trills (For me at least as i usually dump 5+ goods there) The rest of it is pretty simple.

It's a 10, you just have to be consistent with streams >.> you just need stamina.. it's more leaning to the FMO side because of the length of the song not because of the difficulty...Patterns are too easy to read.Comment

I still think this should be an 11. Yeah it's an easier song for index players, but now that I play spread I have to mash to even full combo it.

I have no problem with this as a 10. The trills are a pain sure, but they are slow enough to not be worthy of FMO status.
The main challenge is simply that it's a bit long, but not STUPIDLY long enough to make it an 11 on length alone.

In my opinion this isn't 2 ranks higher than OTFD, which is a similar type of stream file with the same BPM, just shorter and has less trill patterns and a highest 9.
10, unless the reference songs are changed and cutoff lines are lowered.Comment

For some reason I can hit the one-handed trills relatively easily, but I struggle with the rest of the song (it's just too fast for me. Things I used to consider fast before were charts like He's a pirate and Ivaltek, and now they seem pretty slow, but I still struggle with Vertex).

Its should stay a 10, a few years ago I would have said that the drop was really dumb, but by that time I just started to play spread and for me the song was hell (even thought I could SDG in index). But now I don't see any reason for the song to be a FMO: The streams are pretty straight forward, the jumps are simple, the only difficult part are the trills, but with a little practice and luck, that part becomes fairly easy.

I don't think it should be an 11. Granted I have a hard time FCing this spread, when I was index I could FC it easily, like others have said as well. i'd argue against the main premise of the change: the thrills. I have huge trouble with this song, but the thrills are points in the song where I can reset myself and start the following stream from scratch. without them the song would be harder. from memory i recall a few one-handed thrills (i hope) but they aren't long enough to be that much of a problem.
