[Suggestion] Question Answer Thread

Hopefully this hasn't already been suggested, I searched through 20 pages of thread titles finding nothing.

Let's say you have a question about a worldly thing. First example I can think of is the question: Why is urine yellow? So someone on FFR knows the answer and posts it. Now we have one question and one answer and we are happy.

This will hopefully clear up some of the forums (Chit Chat I think most of all) from a whole bunch of threads with one question in them.

I understand that anyone could just Google the question and probably get an answer, but I thought this would something of an organization tool for all the threads that happen anyway.

I like this idea. Pretty similar to the Q&A Thread on the Newbies forum (I think).

I approve of this. Smogon has something similar with their "Ask A Simple Question, Get A Simple Answer" deal going on in various parts of the forum.

Could also be an alternate approach to the 1mil Get undertaking of yore.

Why is it that when you add an oxygen atom to a water molecule you get an antiseptic (Hydrogen Peroxide)?
What does oxygen do that makes this compound change so drastic like that?

H2O2 has a double bond, and the angle between the molecules changes thus leaving it less polar than an ordinary H2O molecule edit: no I lied about this, I'm not sure myself
the double bond due to the extra oxygen atom(pi bond) is what completely changes the structure of the molecule

So that structure change just makes it bond with other molecules and atoms differently?
Hmm, that's pretty cool. But why is it oxygen that makes that occur? What properties does oxygen have over say helium, that causes that?

Helium is a noble gas, doesn't bond with anything. Another reason is that hydrogen peroxide might not even be a polar molecule, but rather an ionic compound.

The stuff we pour on our cuts that stings like hell is usually about 3% hydrogen peroxide by volume, however, and there's a DAMN GOOD reason it's stored in dark places that escapes me at the moment. I'll ask Mom when she gets home, she's got a master's degree in chemistry.
