What if the bottom of the level ranks for veterans totaled the columns for P G A M B - totaled them, and then gave a globally ranked raw score? That way people would have a comparison for PA as well rather than simply mashing for a better rank. This statistic could be added to the profile page.

Lets Say we're adding three songs against two.
For arguments sake, all three songs have 200 notes exactly
Player one -
10,000 (AAA)
9,950 (2-0-0-0)
10,000 (AAA)
29,950 (2-0-0-0) <----total

Player two -
10,000 (AAA)
10,000 (AAA)
20,000 (0-0-0-0) <-----total

The total raw score would be the new statistic

Mind you, it would also have to assign some kind of penalty score to unplayed songs, because if it averaged out your PA across played songs, 1 AAA would be rank 1, and if it just added up the PA down the list for a grand total PA, the 0-0-0-0-0 on unplayed songs would screw it up.

Unplayed songs would have 0 for a raw score
Edit:// a 0-0-0-0-0 would hurt the overall score because it isnt adding to the bottom totals at all - the advantage would be to play all the songs to have more Perfects/Goods to have a higher raw score from the totaled columns

I would be really interested to see what my raw rank is .... I have a feeling it's below my Average rank ranking because of the 11's and 12's I mashed

My point is that if all you do is total up all their "points" and then rank them, you're going to rank someone who has more songs played but badly over someone with fewer songs played well, and I'm not sure that's accurate.

Sounds interesting, but devonin is right. For the penalty could you just put the number of notes in the song as misses?

Then a lot of people would have negative values lol

Average rank has the same issue, buts its still a major statistic
