Blocking post count

A lot of people on the site have posting simply to reach a higher post count,(obviously enough).Anyway I had this idea where an option could be inserted to block the post count.
If people stop paying attention to post counts than perhaps they will stop posting or at least stop saying "hey look 1000 posts."
I'm not sure how much work this would take but postwhoring is pretty rampant and it might lessen it.

well.. i have always wanted a system where the administrators have the privilage to deduct from someones post count based on how that person acts..

I hate forums that do that... The spamming here isn't all that bad anyway, we get like one or two every now and then, but it's not really that big a problem. Besides, what else would we flame at otherwise?

Blocking post count? nah.... but ure sorta right about the massive posting thingy.
it may not be that bad now but in the future, as forums and sites grow in popularity,
people of all kinds like post whores come along. so 87x's idea sounds good, post deduction
fools who post for no reason at all.

My idea was that this would be an option of some sort.
You could turn it on and off whenever you wanted to.
I'm not exactly sure how one could allow this option to work though, if at all.
