Issues with avatar

This is probably a really stupid question, and an obvious answer to it. I'm not sure.

Although, I am trying to get an avatar from a URL, and when I put it in the custom box, it always says "Ivalid URL". I don't know why, cause I copy it correctly.

I'd appreciate if someone helped me, even if it is so obvious and a newb should be left to suffer.

k, you save the .gif onto your computer, but don't open it. Then upload it as your avatar

what if it's not your own computer? Why couldn't I use the URL?

Who knows.

Just do it and delete it.

Oh, and maybe in fact, the avatar link was invalid.

Uploading avatar via url has never worked for me either.
