Multiplayer Changes Arrow Direction

I have been playing this game for a little while and recently started playing with the arrows going from the top to bottom (like guitar hero) and have found that i have improved. But the problem is that when i play multiplayer they switch and go back to bottom to top. Is there a way I can fix this or is it a programming issue?

Look at your scorecard thing, in the MP game lobby chat thing, under that says "UP" and "DOWN", click down.
