First idea is this nifty little area, consisting of 2 tabs, a Newest Song tab, and a Random Song tab. In the Newest Song tab, it shows the newest added file added to FFR, similar to the FFR Song of the week! on the daily stats page.
This area would be updated whenever there is a new public file released, and the area would contain the song details and a listen button, so you can here the song before playing it! (would cut out the theme song [Emotions] if not done playing yet). You could play the file by clicking within the area, aside from the listen button.
In the 2nd tab, the Random tab, there's a more in-depth random feature, which could even possibly replace the random in on the drop down song list. The Random tab has a Genre selection feature, which could either be All Genres, or Selected Genre, meaning whichever genre is selected on the wheel genre thing, is what genre it will randomly pick from.
Next in the Random tab, a X through Y difficulty selection similar to the one of the currently existing random feature, you get how the works.
Next in this tab, a section for Full Comboed/AAAd song. I figure this wouldn't be able to read off your levelranks, but I figure it could however work off the beta feature that shows a icon for FC/AAA. So at first for most of us at least we would have to reFC/reAAA things to make it work 100% accurately, but whatever, it would work accurately for new members right off the bat at least
Lastly for this tab (I didn't make a SS for this, sorry
), after clicking in the area of the random tab to play a file, a confirmation box would show up, that shows the randomly selected songs details and Play/Cancel/Listen to song/Theme buttons (I explain Theme below in the final suggestion)
One more suggestion
Replace the News tab under the settings tab, and replace it with the Drop Down Song List thing. Have it so after you click a file the song details come up with a Play/Cancel/Listen to Song buttons as well, aaaaand, while listening to the song, a confirmation box that comes up asking if you would like to make this song your FFR Theme Song, which will be the Theme Song whenever you start the game from now on. I think having customization of the Theme Song for a song already on FFR would be amazing. Having an option to make that a random song every time you start-up FFR would be cool too.
