    FFR Connection

Upon reading Sephiroth's post, I wondered if FFR 'battles' could be reality by making a version of FFR where users could challenge others online. It would take a LOT of programming, definitely, but the outcome would be worth the effort. What do the people of FFR say?

Seems there would be way too much lag, and this type of game isn't really forgiving in that area. I lag on some of the songs and I run a cable modem. Just think what it would be like on multiplayer.

When you challenged someone, it could just put you both in the same song and then compare your scores at the end.

Just off the top of my head, there could be a challenge initiated it and database calls made.. If certain flags read true in the database, it lets each waiting person start their game. At the end of the game it compares scores and declares a winner. (similiar to what zumpiez said)

That would be the ultra simple cheap way to do it. There are other methods I would think that could give you a better idea of what is happening to the other person during the game.

The gears are indeed always moving.

        Cheers,

Haha, thanks, Synthlight! I think it'd be a great way to bring together FFR players worldwide, and create more of the atmosphere of DDR. I quote my friend 'To me, DDR isnt' about the dancing. It's about the fun. You should see Adventure Landing on a Friday night!'. I think that with FFRConnection, that could be a reality for FFR, and make it much more popular than games such as Stepmania, for instance.
