    Lag Issue?

    Okay, FFR has been fine for me until today. I am running an HP Pavilion mx75 computer, with 2 gigs of RAM, and about 500 gigs of space with only 200 of those gigs being used (doesn't matter, but in case it does...).

    I have always been able to play songs such as Death Piano with high quality and it will not even have a fraction lag, but today I have been playing LOW QUALITY and very easy songs (see picture below) and I still am having trouble with lag. No, the game play doesn't freeze, but notes just pass by as if I didn't even hit them. It's not my keyboard, I have tried 3 different ones including a new one I just bought. I found this very strange, as the music doesn't even lag. They just pass by.

    If it helps I have no programs running, and I am running Kubuntu Version 8.04. I am using Firefox 2.0, but that has never been a problem for me before. The ONLY difference between yesterday and today for me was I started using speed mods. Anyone know what this might be caused by?

    I just opened World of Warcraft and I was in Shattrath City with all the gameplay and graphic settings at the highest, and I was still running at a clean 33.5 fps. Why is FFR like this today? ...

      OMG, I'm having the same problem right now!It just randomly happens in the middle of a song and even if you press the keys nothing happens right? I'm a mediocre player and this has happened to me on snowflakes, breaking the common and one last battle.

      And this just started happening no more than an hour of this post, and this has never happened before.

          Never happened to me before. I switched to Firefox, and the lag did recede quite a bit... however, I still experience more lag than before, if that is related in anyway.

          Ah, tis a shame. You could've kept your speech as is right there.

              make sure you didn't recently download something that is running in the background, causing you to lag. i accidentally did that once... DLed something for another reason that i thought would be helpful, but it caused me to get random misses in FFR... i assume it was missing when the program was sending data or something. So i removed it and FFR worked fine again.

                  Naw, I checked and everything is fine but FFR. Stepmania, Adventure Quest, World of Warcraft, even my ROMS. They run so smoothly, that it's unbelievable. I'm bumping this thread just to let you know it's still occuring, but it isn't as bad as it was. Now I just get a minor lag spike which makes me get an average on a note that would originally be a perfect.

                  I tried a bunch of stuff up to this, even went over to my friend's houses and they had the same problem too. Not trying to be a nuisance, but it's getting very stressful when I am doing well on a song.
