    Mysql error

I figure you guys know about this, since generally theres a place of notification for all these errors to display in whatever admin area you have for your server (right?). Anyways, this keeps popping up on the front page and I've to refresh to get it to rid itself. There's other errors that are above each front page entry and whatever else.

    Re: Mysql error

I came back today, I don't play this game that much anymore. Anyways, on firefox, it's fine. It has only given me this error in internet explorer and it only happens once in a while it seems (if I go to the front page again, it won't give me this error). Anyways, I copied the page in its entirety, though I'm sure you've some place to check all error messages that have happened.

December Spin Celebration: 5 Years of FFR on SIU

Posted in SpinItUp on December 8th, 2007

Hold onto your hats (or any other article of clothing you happen to be wearing; if this does not apply, I am officially scared), because here we go with the December Spin Celebration.

As promised, Saturday, Dec. 8 is here and we now have the first of our four special Spin It Up additions. This week’s theme celebrates an anniversary of the very fiber of our existance - 5 years of Flash Flash Revolution. In this update, you will find a robust recognition of 18 songs, 12 of which are brand, spanking new to Spin it Up, which celebrate a handful of songs popularized in Flash Flash Revolution 1st Style and the early days of Flash Flash Revolution 2nd Style. 12 songs is kind of like the 12 days of Christmas, so this theme thing is really playing into my hand, right?

From its humble beginnings in 2002 on a single, black page to the huge, involving community it has become today in 2007, Flash Flash Revolution couldn’t be possible without you or the massive number of artists who have allowed us to use showcase their music throughout the years. So, sit back for a couple of minutes and enjoy these classic tunes, now live in Spin It Up:

    1st Style Revisited
    —————————————-
NEW! - Terror From Beyond by Digital Explosion - FFR Song #1 - Difficulty Level 7 by MixMasterLar
Recognized as the very first song added to the game in the Flash Flash Revolution songlist, the origins of FFR are now up for enjoyment in Spin It Up.

NEW! - Get on the Move by DJ Antinomie - FFR Song #2 - Difficulty Level 4 by MixMasterLar
DJ Antinomie’s first contribution to FFR is the euro dance song Get on the Move and the only file among the original dance genre files not rated 4 in difficulty. Among the first FFR entries, DJ Antimomie appears in-game more than any of the artists featured in the original 13 Synthlight levels.

NEW! - Story of Snowman and Sunshine Girl by Digital Explosion - FFR Song #3 - Difficulty Level 5 by MixMasterLar
The only artist to feature more than one song in the original 13 Synthlight levels and perhaps my favorite tune among those levels. Story was one of the longest levels introduced into the game, topping three minutes.

NEW! - 136.6 by Chuk and Gek - FFR Song #4 - Difficulty Level 5 by MixMasterLar
This upbeat dance number with powerful synth lines rounded out the original four dance genre songs.

NEW! - Legend of Zelda by The Rabbit Joint - FFR Song #13 - Difficulty Level 3 by MixMasterLar
The song that launched the arcade genre in FFR. Unfortunately for FFR players, the SIU version offers no Yoshi’s Story theme for a bonus round and, no, for the 1,432,283,283rd time, that is not System of a Down.

NEW! - Mega Man II: Dr. Wily Theme #1 by C. Stewart - FFR Song #14 - Difficulty Level 4 by Nestlekwik
The 14th song on FFR and the first stepfile in the game not developed by Synthlight. The original FFR stepfile was created by some weirdo entirely in Notepad. *Currently out of order for some reason. Will have a fix ASAP*

Super Mario 8-Bit ’80s Remix by Starla PeaceCraft - FFR Song #16 - Difficulty Level 1 by Shashakiro
Super Mario was FFR’s first recognized level 1 difficulty step file. While not new to Spin It Up, you can enjoy it in-game, still its level 1 glory.

NEW! - Salad for Your Tuesday by Jewpinthethird - FFR Song #21 - Difficulty Level 6 by XPTRIPPYNESSXD
The first appearance of site staff member Jewpinthethird in FFR. Now the song that launched a robot dancing craze on Youtube is available on Spin It Up. What? Do you think I’m kidding about the Youtube dancing?

NEW! - HellBeat by Arktisk (David Poore) - FFR Song #23 - Difficulty Level 6 by MixMasterLar and Jugglinguy
FFR difficulties go double digit for the first time, tossing in an 11 difficulty to the game. The song clocks in at 1 minute exactly, narrowing out Mega Man 2 and Legend of Zelda by 1 second for shortest song in FFR, which it held until March 2007.

NEW! - Soul Shift by SuperGreenX - FFR Song #39 - Difficulty Level 4 by Nestlekwik
The first of many, many songs in FFR by the talented SuperGreenX. The song was added as a special event when a then-unprecendented 4 songs hit FFR at the same time. If you claim it was actually 5 songs at the same time, I have no idea what you are talking about.

FFR 2nd Style (The Early Years) Revisited
    ————————————————
Secret Zombie Room by For Great Justice! - FFR Song #50 - Difficulty Level 2 by Synthlight
One of the original 2nd Style secret genre levels is already included in Spin It Up, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it. The song was actually a Spin It Up pioneer, being the second tune placed into the game.

Trip to the Moon by Nina Goddess of Dance - FFR Song #53 - Difficulty Level 5 by Synthlight
An example of one of FFR’s great European artists, Nina would also appear in later in-game levels before being featured in the arcade and console releases of In the Groove. Being the third artist implemented into Spin it Up, Nina’s voice also accompanies the FFR and SIU song Bomb the Base by Paradise Decay.

Ub3R R4vE by DJ Rage VI - FFR Song #54 - Difficulty Level 6 by Shashakiro
Some more heavy-hitting music to add to the top rungs of the ladder on the early FFR difficulty scale. Back then, I learned DJ Rage VI at the time lived one town over from me. Small world, no? Ub3R R4vE was the first level 6 file added to Spin It Up.

NEW! - Dance 2 This by DJ KANKAOH - FFR Song #59 - Difficulty Level 2 by Nestlekwik
DJ KANKAOH provided many tracks for FFR in the early days and one of his last-seen tunes, introduced in 2nd Style, is the easy-going house song Dance 2 This. DJ KANKAOH also collaborated with someone for the first-ever song made specifically for FFR, but I don’t know anything about that.

NEW! - Stalled Out and Sushi Bars by The Fat’s Sabobah - FFR Song #85 - Difficulty Level 5 by MixmasterLar
Another quality outing for staff member Jewpinthethird. Jewpin always brought out a unique sound among the artists of FFR and Stalled Out is no exception.

For FFR by DJ Rage VI - FFR Song #86 - Difficulty Level 8 by Shashakiro
DJ Rage VI shows up again to create a song, introduced in the secret section, just for FFR. I mean, that’s why the song is called For FFR, isn’t that obvious? Spin It Up showed its tribute toward FFR when it was released as the second-ever 8-rated spinfile.

NEW! - CIA Rave by DJ Acsent - FFR Song #98 - Difficulty Level 5 by MixMasterLar
The 1/8th stream beast makes its way into Spin It Up with this new creation. Now the nightmare of everyone’s average rank can be played in spin form.

Balloon Fever by dj tepples - FFR Song #121 - Difficulty Level 2 by Shashakiro
Placed into Spin It Up at good old number 10, the level 11 arcade giant got toned down when introduced into Spin It Up. The song joined an already-impressive lineup of arcade songs for its time and there’s always room for Balloon Fight.

So there you are, our tribute to Flash Flash Revolution. I hope the history and notes were of fan service to you and help you out if you are ever to confronted with FFR trivia. Be sure to head over and play what we have to offer in Spin It Up, which is quick approaching its 100th song addition. The additions won’t be stopping any time soon either as we still have three full-fledged theme-filled weeks of Spin It Up to go through. But, please also continue enjoying Flash Flash Revolution, and feel free to thank the staff members for bringing you five years of FFR. Without everyone’s support, there would be no 5 years of FFR and your continued support ensures we’ll be recognizing 10, 15, 20 years and beyond. Be sure to drop by MixMasterLar’s profile and shoot him a message - this dude is a spinfile beast and is responsible for most of the new content you’ll be playing.

With the song additions, I’ll be available for chatting and game play in Spin It Up multiplayer for a couple of hours. Come join the fun and if you’ve never played before, now is the perfect time to learn!

Angels & Airwaves Winners to be Announced

Posted in FFR News on December 5th, 2007
We just received word that will be announcing the winners for the recent Angels & Airwaves contest on Weds Dec 12th. The band will be available that week and we will be shipping out the signed merchandise that same Friday.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this crazy contest. You helped in many ways to make the Angels & Airwaves launch a success and did FFR proud by supporting an artist that believes in what we are doing.

Any suggestions for another contest with an FFR / Widget artist?

    Cheers,

Monty Are I, Widget Are I!

Posted in Embeddable Widgets on December 3rd, 2007

Since 2001, five dynamic, industrious guys known as Monty Are I have been creating urgent, epic, “action rock,” tailor made for face-melting and crowd-wowing on stages across America. Described as “blazing, meticulously crafted, melodic punk with great songs, burning harmonies, and stunning arrangements,” Monty Are I are always working hard whether on the road or in the studio. This year they shot their first music video which was shown on Fuse and MTVU, toured with SUM 41, were featured in Tony Hawk Project 8, and nominated for a Boston Music Award.

So check out Monty Are I! Play the Monty Are I widget! And, you can find Monty Are I & Permanent ME on FFR, in the Rock genre. Also expect a harder version of Dublin Waltz by Monty Are I and files for Permanent ME’s Until You Leave & Christine in the near future!

FFR Artist Wishlist - Take 2

Posted in FFR News on November 30th, 2007
A few months ago I asked everyone which artists they would like to see on FFR. The Response was overwhelming and we had all kinds of suggestions. We have since then accomplished working with some of those requested artist. No artist was toooo large or small and I think was able to surprise quite a few of you with who we came up with.

Now I am renewing my request. I just want all of you to respond with every artist you would still like to see on FFR. You can request 1 artist or 50 of them. I want to hear about them all and I want to hear your thoughts about them. Tell me why you would like to see them on FFR or why their music would make an interesting match to promote.

    Lay’em on me!

    Cheers,

Post Turkey Day Super Excitement Token

Posted in Flash Flash Revolution on November 27th, 2007

Listen up you bloated turkey eating fools. At some point today there will be a new token released. Clues will follow. Leave no link unturned.

    Cheers,

    Synthlight

*EDIT* - Haven’t found anything yet? It’s not difficult, just go back like in the old days and visit an admin’s profile.

*EDIT by Tass* - Since most people have said Synth’s clue is too vague, I’ll provide you with my suggested hint: “Visit the ghost of tokens past.” Hopefully between Synth’s clue and my hint, you’ll be able to piece it together.

    Permanent ME Just for You

Posted in Embeddable Widgets on November 27th, 2007

Fresh from the presses another Flash Flash Revolution widget rolls off the line, bringing you, our beloved FFR users the musical stylings of the rock band Permanent ME.

Formed in Bellmore, NY when its members were just in high school, Permanent ME is comprised of singer/guitarist Brian Kapler, guitarist Joseph Guccione and drummer Mike Fleischmann. Formerly known as Yes, Virginia the band is now signed to Stolen Transmission Records and is touring in support of their full-length release, After The Room Clears. This year they toured with Fall Out Boy and BoysLikeGirls, were featured in the EA Games release “Burnout” and shot a video for “Allison” which was featured on Steven’s Untitled Rock Show on Fuse.

Currently, Allison is available for play in both a light and heavy difficulty on the Permanent ME embeddable widget. You can check out Allison’s game play levels straight from the Permanent ME Flash Flash Revolution widget page or by visiting Permanent ME’s official MySpace page.

Be sure to give the new levels a play, leave some comments and look forward to even more band, artist and song additions in the near future.

8 New SIU Songs, December Spin Celebration!

Posted in SpinItUp on November 26th, 2007

Oh, noes! A nestlekwik post - it must be about Spin It Up! You’ve never been more correct my good friend. Now that Thanksgiving is over and we’ve snapped out of holiday mode, let’s push ahead to what’s happening now as well as next month. To bring you up to speed, here are the recent additions brought to Spin It Up in recent weeks:

Zephon by DJ Sharpnel - Level 6 spinfile by MixMasterLar
Otaku Speedvibe by Neon Genesis Gabbangelion - Level 8(!) spinfile by jugglinguy
Galaxy by Detatch - Level 2 spinfile by BEN.(SPEIRS) 7.5
Atomic Trigger by Zero_Bass - Level 5 spinfile by SulferDragon
Happy Rainbow by OSTER Project - Level 6 spinfile by SulferDragon
Fight For Your Life!! by Reone662 - Level 3 spinfile by SulferDragon
Fun At Times by Detatch - Level 2 spinfile by BEN.(SPEIRS) 7.5
Speed Limit by /DJS\ - Level 6 spinfile by MixMasterLar

/DJS\ has graciously let us use a number of his tracks in Spin It Up and recently released a brand new album which is available on the /DJS\ official Web page. While we have a number of esteemed popular bands debuting in Flash Flash Revolution, don’t forget about our independent artists, which also have a number of featured widgets you can find, play and receive embed codes for in our vast, ever-expanding Flash Flash Revolution widgets page.

This week there will be no song additions made to Spin It Up, but fret not, as it is giving us time to prepare for a savory month of spinning come December. In an effort to make some holiday noise, Spin It Up will feature hefty song additions throughout the entire month of December, once a week on each Saturday starting on December 8. Because we are cute and clever, each Saturday will have a different theme to it that befits the songs added in that week to bring some holiday flavor to the game. Since you’ll have time away from school for the holiday, what better time to grab a hot cup of cocoa and spin along to some new tunes on your favorite online site? Just, please, please, please be careful with that cocoa and don’t spill it on yourself or the computer while you play, alright?

So far the schedule for the month looks like this:
    Saturday, Dec. 8 - ?????
    Saturday, Dec. 15 - ?????
    Saturday, Dec. 22 - ?????
    Saturday, Dec. 29 - ?????

Mysterious, isn’t it? A lot of long-time members should especially enjoy our first week of additions, but that week’s theme is under wraps until December 8th. As always, you can whittle down the anticipation by jumping over to play Spin It Up on this very site and have a spin at the 77 songs we currently have featured in the game. Don’t forget about the Spin It Up forum, where you can discuss Spin It Up, provide feedback on how we can make the game better and even learn how to contribute spinfiles.

That’s all for now. See you on December 8th!

Giving Thanks… To All Time Low and Dashboard Confessional!

Posted in Embeddable Widgets on November 24th, 2007

I hope everyone in the states had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn’t eat too much and pass out early. Also, if you were crazy enough to go out early on Black Friday to hit up some of the sales, I hope it proved successful and not a headache. In between all of that, I have finally found the time to give you guys a little update.

All Time Low is a pop-punk band from Maryland on the rise. Taking their name after a line from a New Found Glory song, these boys are well on their way to be the next band to watch for. While only being seniors in high school, they were signed to Hopeless Records. They have since released 4 cds and have toured non-stop, including appearing on the 2006 and 2007 Vans Warped Tour. Recently, ATL has uploaded the All Time Low FFR Widget to their myspace page. Make sure to check it out!

Also, Dashboard Confessional’s FFR Widget has gone live on their myspace page! Make sure you stop by their page and show them some love as well!

Songs, Songs, Songs… A Subscribers Paradise

Posted in Game Announcements on November 19th, 2007
Added 6 subscriber only songs to the game over the past 45 minutes or so to make up for the lack of SotW files recently. They’ll go public sporadically over the next 3 weeks. Check out Funk, bottom of page 1 and top of page 2 for them. Lot of arcade remixes, like from Final Fantasy, Sonic, and even TMNT.

    Enjoy
