    AAA's

i know this has been said a hundred times, and the admins are fed up with hearing about it, but something must be done about the hacked AAA's.

i don't know much about how to do it, or how to write the code for it, but i'm sick and tired of seeing 10 of my AAA's hacked EVERY DAY. it's ridiculous, and if it's not too difficult, i would really like to see someone come up with a solution.

i mean, i've already heard some good ideas about making the database check for scores that are above the max, and deleting them automatically. all it would be is a simple bit of math (max combo+most perfects possible), and anything above that is moot.

is this too difficult, in all honesty?

because if it is, then someone needs to check the database every day and delete hacked scores manually. one or the other.

    Re: AAA's

You do realise how conflicted your post is?

We all know that the max possible score is not hard to work out, we also all know that if a score is over the max possible score it should not be hard to set up a process to automatically delete it.

If they were deleted automatically then they would definatly have to be logged so that followup investgation could be done on the culprits.

Look if it was a simple check the box problem then im sure it would be done. I dont think it is. What if other scores got deleted by the database or the process malfunctioning?

Seriously though if you know that your AAA is suppose to be rank 1 and its rank 5 temporaily does it really hurt that much? Make your own accurate spread sheet of ranks that dosn't get effected by people "hacking your AAA'd songs" if you really fell the pain.

Edit: While im still flaming you, I might aswell ask you to attempt to use captial letters when making a thread, it helps people take you seriously. Otherwise they may "fail to give a damn".

then what's the point of even recording AAA's at all? or even having the stat bars? all i want is my statistics to be accurately portrayed. is that too much to ask?

oh, you're so witty and clever. i didn't ask for your personal opinion about my typing. this is a suggestions thread about AAA's, not my lack of capital letters, so if you don't have anything to contribute, then please don't.

also, you can copy and paste this into Microsoft Word and capitalize all of my sentences if you really feel the pain.

          Re: AAA's

the message was not skewed by the lack of capitalization. the communication was still wholly effective as far as i can tell. i used proper punctuation (more so than Windsurfer), and i don't use 'txt tlk'.

if i'm just going to get flamed and ridiculed, then just forget about it. if an administrator sees this thread, please lock it, as it is no longer a suggestion thread, but instead has become a b*tch about how i didn't capitalize some letters, and has been officially derailed.

A thread about anything should have decent grammar, punctuation and spelling.

I agree its annoying having the stat bar off but like it has been said there obviously isn't a simple quick fix, you will have to live with it.

We still record AAA's because everyone is evenly effected by the hacked scores, whats not a AAA for you is also not a AAA for anyone else, meaning you can still use AAA's for ranks and comparison.

              Re: AAA's

all i want is for my stats to be up-to-date and all FC's and AAA's accounted for.

i have yet to hear an answer that explains why this can't be accomplished. the only thing i've heard so far is flames, which only speaks incredible volumes about the people on this forum.

                Re: AAA's

Like windsurfer said, a hacked AAA doesn't affect your average rank much at all. A few people lowering your rank for a single particular song temporarily shouldn't be that big of a matter.

But what about the stat bars? Not too many people notice exact AAA counts. They may see 73 or 71 and likely think the same thing; "Oh, it's a bit above 70 AAA's". Maybe they will notice if it's near some major number like 100 or 200 AAA's.

Would it be possible to code the AAA bars similar to the Tier Point AAA's? Excite Bike has 5 "hacked" scores, but the AAA list on my Tier Points still shows it. The only difference is that the song would need to be checked if it was (Skill) Token or not.

But then again, 8 "hacked" AAA's is a bit annoying.

                  Re: AAA's

this is still a recent issue. it used to be a big issue, then we fixed it... but some of the updates we've done over the past 2 weeks have brought it back.

i'll push harder on jason and synth to get it fixed so it won't constantly be on my shoulders to keep deleting scores.

thank you. this is what i wanted to hear - and the last thing you need is people bugging you about this, because in truth, you've got better things to do.

@silvercomet: it's not so much my average rank that i care about, it's just that when over 10% of your AAA's don't show up, it's frustrating. currently, my signature shows i have 79, when truly, i have 92.

Didn't capitalize some letters? You didn't capitalize any except for 'AAA'.

On topic: Yes, it would be nice to have an instant check system for hacked AAA's, but it's not really necessary. If we can manually delete these scores then there's really no problem. I know that it's a tedious job deleting these scores but it's possible.

Why don't you just make some sort of apache or like firewall type thing, that blocks any trainers/hacking software to access the site? Rewrite the code so the game can only be accessed from the site/mirrors? And maybe disable the keyboard (except for the arrows/hotkey/numpad) when you're on the main game screen/playing?
