    Panic Mode Category

A section where you can choose a 'Panic Mode' level. Different types of panic mode can include:

    1. Progressively faster totally random arrows.
    2. Progressively faster arrows but no repeats.
    3. Random arrows and gets faster every 10 secs (level up).
    4. Double arrows only.
    5. Continuous staircase pattern.

etc. etc. I'm sure many more can be thought of.

I wouldn't like very many of those.
1-Then 1 out of every 4 notes would be a jack, which would basically mean you could go until you got unlucky enough that there were so many jacks so close together that you failed.
2-Omg this would get really painful when it got faster than OMW.
3-This random would probably still be a jack fest.
    4-Same problem.
5-Omg that would be so lamely repetitive.

Although, these would probably be fun if jack syndrome were ever fixed, I don't find it likely to happen soon at all.

Thanks for the comments Doug, interesting to see an expert's point of view on it. Bit of a luck fest after a certain threshold. I've always wondered how far I could go if the arrows were completely random as opposed to a stepped pattern though, would be a little harder I would have thought.

It would be a LOT harder. Caprice is much harder than fotbb, even though guess which one has a lot more notes per second? 2-frame jacks everywhere in a 200 bpm stream would be harder than 240 bpm stream with no 2 framers.

They would all be either too repetitive or would eventually lead to framers.

And how would any of this go along with music?

Some kind of ambient music would be fine, maybe increasing gradually in tone, I dunno.

I'm not that familiar with the terminology, I assume framers are when the arrows get so close together that you can't get perfects on 2 or more in a row. Again I can see that this is a problem for expert players but for intermediate players like me still struggling on 'challenging', framers aren't even an issue because I'm nowhere near that good. 'No repeats' would partially solve the framers/jacks issue too.

Regards to the repetitive thing, isn't any song repetitive if you play it over and over? My 5 suggestions were only examples of different types of panic mode, if repetitiveness is a problem make them get faster quicker or don't play them so often! . Many video games have a 'Panic Mode' option.

Anyway it's only a suggestion even if it would turn out to be crap, cheers all.

No song in FFR is nearly as competitive as never-ending jumps. Oh, and if you've ever gotten a miss you don't think you really did, it was probably because of 4-framers or harder.
