Difficulty

Okay, so I've ran into tons of people who like the music to a lot of songs, but they can't even finish them. This is what I propose.

It would be a very long and drawn out process, but I think that giving an option to select the 'difficulty' of a song you want to play would be a great addition.
Now, before you fly off the handle and say "NO WAAAAYYY JOSSEE!!! That would take too much work."
Ofcourse it would. I'm completely aware that you'd have to write steps for each difficulty, for each song. Which is why I said it'd be long and drawn out.

Even so, I really think it would make things a lot better for everyone.

That said, I would like to see a song stepped for FFR. I lack the ability to make "good steps" so I'll just leave that to someone else. Also, I know there's a board for this, but there's no "suggest a song" section. Just places to post dwi's audio etc. So, anyone feel like stepping sonata claro de luna?

we have a few v2's in the purchased section... but, we aren't able to add anything new to purchased because of how it was coded. and we don't want to add any v2's that aren't in purchased...

when 3rd style comes around, and we have more room to add purchased songs, expect more v2s.

I never said V2's....I said make each song level selectible. For example.

Oh, I wanna play NEOMax. But it's so hard on Heavy. I guess I'll have to stick to Standard. *picks standard instead of heavy*

Oh, Trip to the Moon. This one's real easy. I can play it on Heavy!

I wasn't talking about making whole new songs.
Just different stepfiles for the same song, with different difficulties.
Just make an extra clicky box that would say something like "Choose your Difficulty."

It's not that he's flaming your idea, it's just that you're not the first to suggest this. As Tass said, there are purchasable versions of certain songs, but they're generally more difficult than their version 1 counterparts (I have no idea what happened to Party 4u V1, though), with the notable exception of the Dr. Wily theme. (Oh my stars, this version is on sync!)

well, i'm sure you're familiar with the R1 engine... does it seem like it can handle being able to select different difficulties the way the R2 engine can?

so, yea... besides, the v2's in purchased are basically different difficulties of the same song.

No. The Little mod in DDR makes it all 4th notes.

I could use that for playing SM on a pad. I doubt it will be put in FFR though, it would take too much effort, and there are other mods that people would rather have. It would be better if in 3rd style, they just added easier versions of the hard songs, IMO.
