I've been trying to FC 100BB with a decent PA, and this has happened:



Nothing out of the ordinary right? I just booed out after I missed one. The problem is, I missed the 12th arrow! (the second of a set of jacks). How exactly does that happen?

EDIT to be slightly more informative: On the second set of jacks, I get (sometimes) a good, an average and a miss, in a 2 arrow jack that I combo (the jack is the 11th and 12th arrows, respectively, and I get a 12 combo, but still miss one).

This is known as the "jack glitch" in FFR. What it means is that whenever there are two arrows that are close enough to form a jack, it's much harder to hit it because of how the game works. Basically, the second arrow has priority over the first, so if you hit ANY part of the second arrow's timing window (usually you'll hit its Average window) then it'll register the second arrow and miss the first one. Note that when the arrows are so close that the second arrow's Average window overlaps the entire Perfect window of the first arrow, it is impossible to get a Perfect on the first arrow, and therefore impossible to AAA the song. There are a handful of songs like this, and 100 Bar Blackout is one of them. To hit this kind of jack, you'll just have to hit the first arrow very early and get a Good.

The glitch has been around for a long time, and will hopefully be fixed in 3rd Style.

FYI... there are 2 instances of this in 100bb. the 11/12 arrows and the 107/108 arrows.

I know that, Shash, the problem is that I get a good, and average, and a miss for 2 arrows.

If you hit the first one late enough that it thinks you hit the second one, then, no matter what you do after that, it seems you are guaranteed get at least one miss.

You're getting an average for the second arrow and then a goodmiss (yes it's possible to get these) for the first one.

and no matter what you do, hitting the second arrow of a jack first will "teleport" the first one into its goodmiss window...if you hit really fast you'll get the goodmiss, otherwise you'll just get a miss.

almost 100% sure you can't get an average from hitting too late.

The only way to settle this is to hit early, and get goods. It's nearly impossible to hit them all perfs, just like gradeus, nova, omw, hellbeat, caprice..etc...
