This has been brought up before, and there has been mixed feelings on it. I believe Synth endorsed the idea at some point, so it isn't impossible.

Well.. I would have said something negative about doing that because teams just piss me off.. but since you asked me to post an opinion.. I think it would be a great idea. Only because there are SOME people who forget what you have to do to get into THEIR team. coughleafninjacough

And they will have somewhere to put it all down in so they don't forget.. But it might cause.. chaos...

yeah there should be a restrictions on how many teams could be made...such as only 100 clans...soo there isnt like 1094082479 clans with like 1 person on it..and a restriction on how many people in each clan. Leader(s)of the clan has certain powers..such as people requesting to be in the clan has to be accepted by him/her via private messaging..etc. I know currently many clans have 'tests' to join...so challenges could contain requests...or we could stick to clan tryout rooms as we are doing now. While from what i have been hearing that five to a clan is too little...so 10-15-20 is kinda alot..but may have to suffice. Idk, anyone..ideas?

Don't put a restriction on the amount of clans allowed. Make it so that each member has to have a unique IP (So you don't have 5 accounts made by 1 person). Then, once a clan is created, it needs to obtain and maintain 5 members within their first week of creation, if these requirements are not met, the Clan is automatically deleted.

This will take care of that problem. It will also give people a chance to join a clan, as the leaders will be eager to find people to join, and thusly the newer members will have an oppurtunity to prove themselves.

Each player should only be allowed to be in one clan, so some sort of official system would need to be made, with a registration process. This would eliminate the possibilty of a leader pitting two of their own created clans together and reaping the benefits of an automatic win. Also, it prevents a conflict of interest situation, in which a member has a match against another one of it's clans.

If an actualy system and interface was designed, similar to the challenge system, this clan idea would work best. A date and time would be agreed on in the challenge information, and when accepted, it would be recorded into the database. A room would then be autocreated named and passworded identical to what was in the official challenge. The number of members participating would be required to be entered into the official challenge as well. This way, it can be 1 v 1, but the official clan match won't end until the designated number of players for each time completed their songs. An amount of songs played by each player could be set, and a round type thing could be set as well. The system would record the players score, and if the player tried to cheat and play a turn that wasn't his, the system would record the score as normally, recognize that that player already had a score, and DQ the clan. Official totals would be recorded, and the appropriate win and loss results would be tallied and recorded into the thereoretical high score board, similar to the MP's stat board. You could see the top 50 individual clans, players, personal scores, and the last 50 clan results. Leaderboards and tournaments could branch from this as well.

As you can see I tried to make reasonable brainstorm techniques, but if it is even wanted is a different story.

What about the possibility of teams/clan merging? That fits in along with the chaos I mentioned earlier, because I know a few teams merged, I forgot which ones, but I know I'm right.. and Tps, you didn't think about that now, did you? But I like the brainstorming you did, well thought out.. even though you don't seem to go into MP that often. heh.

Haha, I talked to you yesterday or something. Expect me to be in MP Chat almost all the time now.

There is no need to merge clans, just invite people from that clan, and they can leave and join yours.

Very nice tps. Ive been thinking about it too. Lets..see...what was i thinking...ok
Well, love most of that up there..esp. the designated clan rooms.
Instead of a week restriction..how about an approval system where a necessary 5 members need to be addressed and appoved upfront, where there wouldnt be that rush of OMG i need another person to join. There are some problems with this though.
How would we go about deleting single people off the clan, or adding a person after dropping out?
Would we have a seperate system for clan tryouts or would we have challanges do the job? I know many people play better solo rather than MP..like myself.
In terms of the interface it self, would we create a section i.e IIR , Spinitup...
Labled MP CLAN, or will the interface be included in a section already such as in the forums...?
About acceptance, An accept or decline Pm should be sent to the members of the clan, so that people arent making up names for the sake of having a full clan.
Meh, i gotta go..ill be back a little later. I'll think about this though.

Well, the invitation/challenge system would work best if it operated like the already installed challenge system. Also, getting clans approved would take way too much time once many clans are formed. A clan interface would be best, where you could manage all your players, and either add or drop them.

I already addressed the issue of someone making 5 accounts for a clan, with the Unique IP check that would go on when an invitation is sent out.

If we were to do it, I think there would be a problem at first determining the leaders of the current teams... lots of unneeded drama...

I don't think that this would be much of a problem. Most of the FFR players know who the current leaders are.
