Why not just make an option to see or not see the other person's playing (sometimes it helps to see the other person as a push to try to keep up or do better, for others it's a very bad distraction.) It gets rid of the distraction for those who complain, and for those who don't mind they can see it. Just have the other person's score on the side next to yours instead so you can see without the distraction.^^ (Just a suggestion)Fighting for what you believe in is only pointless when you give up before you win.
