Is it just me, or are like half of the steps out there not very well synchronized with the music? Is it just my computer? Some are perfect, and some are horrible...what's the deal?

yes, this is a real issue. Ive noticed a lot of songs that are really unsynchronized. Some, on the other hand are purposely synchronized, like Skelly Bones. I just never do those ones and do the good ones. YOu'll have tosee for yourself which ones are good synchronized songs.
