yep...
...i don't think it's any secret... it's not consistant at all, i've had reasonable luck predicting the extra arrows (that you press right at the beginning of your new game) based on the position of the last arrow in my previous game...
Sorry if this has already been reported, I though it fairly important though because it opens up the door for some mild cheating.
