High performance mode

I can't help but notice that songs with backgrounds and the spinning parallelograms seem to run slower on my machine than "blank black screen" songs. Is it possible for in .53 for there to be a "high performance mode" which eliminates background etc., speeding things up?

yeah, especially for peeps like me, i need every bit of lag reduction i can get, cause my comp is just slow enough to not experiance slowdown, but rather lag (aka arrows skipping halfway across the screen making songs like revolutionary and CT almost literaly impossible). I don't experiance such lag on SM so i think i'm just gonna stick with that till i get a faster comp.

i got a 2.4 P4 dell...thats the key P4 no AMD crap; cable intarnet (purposely with the a) and a 9700 pro card
