FFR Chat Suggestions

Take me seriously, even though I am angry.

I'm sure there have been threads like this before, but I really don't care. If nobody is going to take me seriously I will keep posting until I'm either banned or something has been done.

Let us be honest, the mods are a joke. Kicking does nothing and nobody obeys the rules in the chatroom. There are people constantly asking the girls with webcams to flash them, talking dirty, and PMing to them. Even if PM block is switched to on, people still harass in the channel... CONSTANTLY. There isn't a minute that goes by without someone saying something obscene, really something needs to be done. I propose three suggestions.

1: Give the mods the ability to ban, timeban, IP and/or Ident ban so people won't laugh in the faces of the mods while they spam like "The Creeper" does every night. This will also keep people more in line, as they aren't as likely to be rude, curse constantly, or say disgusting things to the women in the room for fear of being banned for a an hour, a day, a week, or longer.

2: Auto ban those who spam after being kicked, each ban could be progressively longer. ie: 5 minutes, an hour, a day, etc.

3: Most importantly, please add an ignore button feature so that we don't have to listen to chatroom spam.. the PM block is great, but having to listen to the same person in the chatroom is really irritating...

Anyways, that's my rant. Please do something about the misconduct.

All have been suggested before and I don't think they can be incooperated into the chat as it is now. I say get rid of this chat and get the IRC chat as the main one =x it is just so much better.

I would be happy with an IRC based chat, does one exist now? :O

One problem is I don't think IRC supports webcams... haven't used them in a long time so I could be mistaken.

Edit: Oh wait I forgot my ISP blocks a lot of ports and I cannot even access IRC... They have a monopoly on ISP's in the area surrounding my college, and I would have to move pretty far if I wanted a decent Cable company.

This is unacceptable... I don't understand why it's allowed to go on.

This is a regular occurence, you can log on and see this within an hour or two stretch on a daily basis.

There are many things involved with the chat, that we don't have any controll over.

Banning.... the mods don't have the power to do so, and the actual chat client doesn't have the ability to do that... yet. Autoban's, time bans, again... not written into the client.

There used to be a IRC chat, that was the main chat, but people didn't go to it. The webcams and mic's pull people in.

We are aware of the current state, and we will take care of what happened tonight.

I can't! The ports used for IRC are blocked so I can't even connect to any servers.

It's not on my end, the ISP controls it and they are evil bastards, can't use most of the functions on AIM, can't connect to most games like Halo or FFXI online, Bittorrent downloads are all severely limited, can't go above like 10 kbs. Direct download is the only thing that works properly.

NTC is the worst Cable company / Internet service provider on the face of the earth. They don't listen to their customers and monopolized the off-campus housing cable industry near my campus. Violate any of their rules and they will shut off your Cable TV/internet for a year, or until the end of the college school year, whichever it first... with no refund.

What I think.

Here is my idea. Take it into consideration or not, it's your choice. My idea is of this:

We should take all those who are moderators and rate them. Give them, in our opinions how they do under certain criteria of being a moderator and compare them together. From that we will decide if someone deserves to be a moderator or not. I also would like to have a sticky notice made if it is alright of the reasons why someone becomes a moderator. I will be honest, I see some people who could be worthy of it, and some that dont. But in the end, it never truely is the peoples' decesion because we dont have equal power to those who are administrators. The reason why is simple: Power will make people change, and you can see it. At the rate I see for FFR, I believe this growing cause of spamming and over stress of the kicking will continue and only get larger. Sooner or later, something wil happen, and FFR will never be the same.
