It just happened to me, but I started FFR and the screen came up saying that I have the wrong verision of FFR loaded and to clear my cache. This is obviously the new version checking that was mentioned, but the problem is that I had already played the new version once, have new version checking enabled for my cache, and once I went back to it (without clearing my cache) it worked. Just thought you should know.
