SM problem

im sure its something i did, but my arrow keys dont work when i enter the main menu screen of SM; none of the buttons work until i start playing besides the start button itself; hope youre following me here; i cant access options or graphic options and i cant even exit the program, i need to shut the computer all down; when it loads up the only playable modes are the 2 player ones; umm... what else; on the choose song screen i cant scroll to different songs but i can change the difficulty; oh the buttons all work fine in game; when i go to the option menu right before the game starts, i also can do othing but press start; im getting qite frustrated, any ideas, anyone, besides the facty that im a moron

I am afraid this is in the wrong section.

However, about your problem: I have NO idea what is going on. I htink this happened to me at least once, but the problem solved itself. I do not think you have anything to worry about. It could even be another program you are running screwing up, which happens a bit with me. Just play around, test around, and it will all be okay.

i want to also include there is nothing wrong with my keyboard, it has always worked fine and is workiong just the same

haha happened to me too...
just keep trying out the different "f" buttons like "F1" "F2" etc... one of those swtiches it back to regular version i think its F4.. but im not sure...

i tried the f buttons, still the same; f4 is the minimize button by the way; i tried them all, and i held each down for a few seconds too; but 87 this happened to you and its ok now; its been like this for a week or so now; i think when i lost playing to a friend and i pounded on the keyboard, i hit some buttons that messed it up; i guess if worst comes to worst ill just reinstall it; if anyone has anymore suggestions feel free to post away

yea.. same for me... what does the opening screen look like?? just nothin until you hit enter... yea... im running SMCVS and when this happened to me i stoppped playing because i didn know what was wrong... but then i found out by hitting F3 (the actual button) that i had it set on coin mode.. and you dont want that.. you want it set on home... that fixed mine and it works perfectly now... if its not that then i dont know what to say.. except reinstall a different version...

delete stepmania.ini (or the .cfg file that has all the setttings) That will restore everything to default when stepmainia rebuilds itself.

hey, sotn you got it right, problem fixed; thanks to you others for your suggestions too; i just deleted the file with the sm configuration and preferences; its all worked out; thanks guys
