Profile website deletes characters

When you go to your profile and try to put your website in, it deletes the tilde character (~) and that's a part of my website's URL.

It's commonly used to denote the webspace of a user of a certain website. Don't know why this happens. Can it be fixed easy enough?

report the but to www.pnphpbb.com or www.postnuke.com depending if its the forums or the Pnuke part of the site.
