I saw...that combos are a huge part of your score. Just one miss in an entire song is a difference of 100,000+ points. Comboing an entire song will net you so many more points. One asks, how does the scoring system work in FFR?
COMBOS!!!

I think it goes
perfect= 50
good= 25
average= 5
miss= -10
and that score is multiplied by your max combo at the end.
Am I right?
EDIT: errr... this is definatly not right, somtimes if you get a really low score and combo (chrono trigger) your end score is lower than you in-game score.

The scoring is weird, I haven't figured it out yet. The individual steps are as sotn describes, but I don't know how your final score relates to your max combo. A weird thing is, though, if you repeatedly press a button to purposely fail at the beginning of the song: I got 0 perfect, 0 good, 0 average and 11 misses, max combo 0, but a total score of 1,110 or something close to that. Is the 1,000 points supposed to be negative or something?

>_<
Combos have nothing to do with 3rdMix scoring.
Latter steps are weighted heavier in the song; i.e., the beginning steps are worth little points and the final steps are worth huge points.
You can look up the scoring methods on www.aaroninjapan.com.
I've also talked with Synth about scoring methods and there are claims of an entirely different scoring system in FFR #2, so we'll see what exactly changes in the next mix ^_^
