    Percentiles

it's probably been mentioned a bunch before, but i havent seen a topic suggesting it yet:

instead of that % being the percentage of the #1 score, it should be what percentile u fall into, just like with the SAT. that way, u could brag and say "i'm better than 94% of you guys!" as it has been said before, the current %tage of high score thing is simple math, and anybody can just look at the high scores and compare as it is. and even if the percentile score doesnt replace the percent of high score thing, it should at least be a small thing like the rank on the score screen. in fact, u could put the percentile right beside the rank. that way, u have many ways to see how u stand in comparison to other players.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

uhhh, no we dont. we have the percentage of the high score, as seen in this picture of a terrible hellbeat score:

see, we know how far behind the record holder we are, and we know what rank we are, but we dont know what percentile we are. i figure, if the SAT scores have it, so should FFR

I get it, like "im better than 30% of people" so, 30% better would show. I like it.

You see LD, the 10% is based off score, not based off your score compared to everybody else's score. His idea is basing it off the RANK of the song you got. Like, if you are last place with 10,000 points or so, you're not 0%. You might be 2 or 3. His way is based off the rank you recieved compared to the best rank.

yes, the way it is now doesnt take into account if the high score is ridiculously huge compared to the rest, such as on songs where scores are hacked. also, i'm sure i'm better than 10% of the people who play Hellbeat. many many many people can't even pass that song, which automatically shoots me ahead of them. i mean, 571 out of how many thousands of FFR players is definitly nowhere near 10% percentile.
