What it comes down to is how the stepfile will be authored. I am sure that not all songs will have freeze arrows. If there are some songs with freeze arrows, you simply need to not play them. Something I do not think I have mentioned is the fact that when R2 goes up, the original FFR will remain in place and continue on it's own development path. R2 will be a seperate animal.
