Middle Finger hurts?

When i play level 11 songs - 12, my left middle finger hurts... Idk why. It doesn't hurt at the start of the song, but at the middle a sharp pain comes and i have to stop playing... Anyone else has this problem? (Just started happening yesterday.)

This specific hand injury hasn't happened to me before either, but I have had somewhat similar incidents due to my grip strength training.

Firstly, you're going to have to stop playing for at least a day.

There's a trick you can do to help speed recovery. Hold your hands under warm/hot water (as warm as you can handle), then quickly run them under cold water. Repeat this a few times and they should feel 'refreshed'. Take a day off and see how it feels tomorrow. If nothing has changed I'd recommend seeing a doctor, as problems that seem innocent can be quite serious (if you deem a fracture serious enough anyway).

id give it 3 days or more if its getting real bad, same thing happens to me but not my middle finger..i wouldn't go to far in this game if its just now happening to you =p its always gonna be like that until you quit or play thru the pain like i did >_> but even then its gonna randomly come back from time to time but not as much..try not playing 12's till you know you can lol

I've seen Hakulyte say that he's tapped the keys so hard that he basically destroys a little bit of his outer skin layer on his fingers, and that hurts like **** when you're trying to play FFR. First thing to take into consideration is to lighten your keytaps if you haven't already done so, only make the keytaps a lot harder if there's a part you need to put more emphasis on (jack transitions, etc)

It also depends on how you're position your fingers. What setup do you use?

I had this same problem when I first went into Very Difficult (7 or 8,) songs. I wold assume it hurts because the fingers on your opposite hand get tired faster than the hand that you would write with. The best thing to do is take the rest of the day off from playing, but don't give too much time away from the game, or you will have a massive skill drop and have to play your way through those hard songs again, risking another problem like this.

It's SPECIFICALLY your left middle finger, and it's SPECIFICALLY on level 11/12 songs? Huh. I think I've had something like that happen to me before, when I tense up my muscles in order to keep up with the streams you find on that level and...let's just say I can't play Blue Rose over and over.

Regardless, the old standby applies here: Stop when it starts to hurt. We often joke about giving ourselves carpal tunnel syndrome on this site, but it's no laughing matter.
