I actually couldn't agree more. If i had to whore the shit out of a file on ffr for TS rewards I'd grit my teeth and bare the fact that FFR's engine has no appeal to me, but for the sake of friendly competition I'd do it to support the TS/FFR collaboration.

But TS gets a file and playing on the TS engine becomes so much of a hassle. It's saddening. People are so whiny. But I congratulate all those who did try for the Token. I know I never want to play FFR, and it sure as hell didn't take a Special Whoring event to do that to me.

I believe the general point I was trying to get across is that gamewhore competitions aren't exactly the best way to build a bridge between FFR and TS.

You're just as bad for saying you're never going to play FFR, Nocturne. At least we were willing to give TS a chance (and then have it shoved down our throats because of excessive competition) before completely dismissing it.

What is best the way to build a bridge between FFR and TS? If you know, I'm sure TS team will be happy to listen to you. \o\

Until then, it was an okay attempt at introducing the new file and giving a reason to check out the site imo. Gamewhores will gamewhore, haters will hate and trolls will troll, but as long as the bandwagon is moving, new things can happen. I don't really see how this could be a failure in any way.

A smaller scale version of the same event would have been better IMO, or something along the lines of get 50,000,000 total score in TS today and you get x on FFR, instead of play this one song all day and the top 10 get a token.

It was an optional thing. No one forced FFRers to compete, it was for a chance to be the first to obtain the token. This was keeping in mind that this WOULD NOT be the only way to obtain the token. Part of the days release was just that: a release of a new file in which FFR was welcomed to try out, the competition was for fun. I didn't do the competition myself because i was satisfied having played the file until i grew tired of the song. But am i gonna play TS again? Def, I wasn't pushing myself to my limits where I'd be so bitter about everything on TS. The first place wasn't even won by a TS regular. In fact i never knew this guy until i checked out his FFR profile. Seems like he was enjoying his time on TS for the most part.


Yeah it was wrong for me to say I'll never play FFR. While it's probably true though, it's my preference, FFR is too buggy and slow imo. My preference of music and engine quality even keeps me at TS, which is why people who dismiss TS for it being too difficult to adjust to, or having such different music is fine to me, because that's their preference. But people who say "This competition is stupid" baffles me how that correlates to "Thirdstyle game doesn't appeal to me". Again, no one was forced to whore a song. And if you don't like TS for being different, fine. But i don't see how an event ruined the quality of TS.

I like that as well. But the TS/FFR event in itself has already starting building bit of a bridge, since we've been getting many users from FFR introducing themselves in chat and the game. Heck, we've even had some new unheard of members start making threads for suggestions. I think anything is really helping, this competition isn't a failure at the least. and by far, neither is this alternate file release event for xmas

Actually someone tied me to a chair and told me I wouldn't get to see FFR ever again if I didn't get top 10 in this event. What other choice did I have?

Okay... we're all here for a token that we haven't recevied yet? That's pretty sad to know that people would spam TS for a token... I wonder what happen if you already recevied this token but will you play TS again? I really don't care about the event going on between FFR and TS but we should enjoy what they trying to do to bring FFR and TS together. I know it's going off a rough start but damn we already have some TS haters because it's difficult to play on or haven't recieved their "rare" token for FFR? If that's the case then I'll feel sad for y'all...

I'd also like to just say I'm happy TS and FFR are in this together, i have been from the start, which is why I'm defending this entire event because I've been happy contributing to helping with it. The thought behind it that TS works with FFR, alone shows that TS has nothing against FFR, and FFR the same with TS, and I think people should consider that and try to lighten to tension between both sites. It's really the thought that counts i think
