    Scrolling advantage?

Is there a particular advantage with playing the default scroll up, as compared to playing scroll down?

I've always played down simply out of habit from it feeling natural, but if there's a particular advantage to playing up, then I might want to switch over soon and start practicing =/

There's no advantage other than that a lot of other games (IIDX, DM, etc.) are also reverse scroll.

I use up-scroll, mostly because I played DDR when I was a kid, and I'm just used to that scrolling direction. I imagine that if a guitar hero expert were to try and play FFR, they would prefer downscroll.

Which is the reason I play down/reverse scroll. To me, I don't see the difference, just personal preference. Also include that upscroll is the default, more people will play that.

You should check out leonid. He's a reverse-scroll player, and one of the best players on the site.
Yeah, I've looked at Leonid several times including his 2400 something plays on RATO... but I didn't realize the guy played reverse.... and yeah, looking through videos, are usually intimidating since they're all up scroll

Exactly, Guitar Hero. Though I also felt a disadvantage when attempting to play up scroll on the legacy engine years back since the combo always felt like it was blocking or getting in the way of incoming notes and was slightly distracting. While it does the same in reverse, I could at least make out the notes ahead of time and anticipate their coming. And then some update with Velo happened at some point and now they're on the side <3

Though, there's no 'reading' advantage or anything with up scroll... AT ALL? I remember nearly a year back when I was lurking the forums and someone mentioned up scroll being statistically easier to read, which always bugged me a little though I just stubbornly stuck with the familiar reverse.

I play downscroll because it felt more natural for me to see the arrows fall down to the receptors rather than watch them go up haha.

I also don't think there is an advantage between the two.
