    Mac Users fixing lag!!

So I thought i'd ask all you mac users what you do to reduce lag in the game? So far i've tried a bunch of stuff, and it's made it a bit better, but still not lag free. anyone had luck with a standalone that didn't have lag?
i've found that firefox is the best browser to use, and i've switched to using flash player 9. i haven't tried 8 yet. i did try the standalone w/ flash 9, but I couldn't log in w/ the legacy engine. the velocity engine I didn't like and the lag was different than in firefox, but no better (in fact worse, cuz i recon i've gotten sort of used to the browser lag and have adapted to it).
i'm not really sure why, but whenever i have flash open in firefox for ffr (and in safari for that matter), it is just taking up tons of cpu. then of course when time machine kicks in, the lag gets worse as my processor reaches 100%. i always turn it off though when it starts up. weird that flash is such a resource hog, i never seem to remember it being that bad 2 or 3 years ago

But then my lady friend got pissed off I was playing FFR instead of playing her. Then for the rest of the night she played the 'Only want me for my body' card and I didn't get to sleep with blankets that night.

    Re: Mac Users fixing lag!!

I'm not hardware-savy but I play on my mac with flash 9 standalone/ velocity and it works fine.. time machine never automatically comes up on mine though so maybe that's one of the bigger problems

EDIT: my biggest contribution to this thread=bump :{P

        Re: Mac Users fixing lag!!

I have time machine and it never turns on randomly, so idk about that.

At least for me FFR runs best in FF, with flash 10, and legacy engine on the website, I only get a few lag spikes every now and then, but nothing to harmful.

So yeah my contribution to this thread is keeping it alive :S

Flash 11 has resolved lag for me on Linux, but I'm also having problems getting authenticated for the legacy engine. I'm forced to use the Velocity engine as well - it's not that it's a bad engine, but it lags/skips a bit more for me.

i guess i just need to change the settings on TM then. it usually updates every hr, so i can always tell when it starts going cuz the lag gets huge!
