Using SM5 to make files for FFR?

SM5, in case you don't know, has dropped saving files as .dwi probably because nobody ever touches that game anymore, replacing it with .ssc files.

So... Are there any .sm to .dwi converters out there? Because I don't feel like downgrading, unless that's the only option (I have another computer running OpenITG anyways)
The above post has a 50% chance of being useless. Potentially. Maybe.

SM to DWI to SWF. Tedious.

I have a feeling Blackwebb will support .SM files anyways.

"That just will not do." was keywii's response as she lunged for the scissors, pulled the blades apart, and clamped them down on the base of foil's shaft. Blood start gushing out of the wound where his penis used to be.
    "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Yelled Foil in horror.
"Don't worry. I'm a wizard" uttered Keywii. And with that, Foil's penis grew back.

you're best off just saving it with oITG since it'll create both a .sm and .dwi (i assume since it's built off 3.95)

Until we can support .sm in the converter, you need to use old version of SM when you submit it to FFR.

The converter probably exists but I have no idea where you can get it.

Can't you just save the file, open it in SM 3.9/4.0, and then resave it and it will create an sm file for it?

Do you mean open the .ssc file in 3.9/4.0? Can you do that?

Doesn't it save a whooooppppppssss....said the wrong thing.

Does SM5 ONLY save as ssc? If it saves as sm's, can't you just open that in SM 3.9/4 and then save it and it'll create a dwi?

oh wait SM5 can't even create .sm? (if so it's not compatible.. at all). I need to dl and check it anyways.

Does DDream work in ssc? Can you open the file in DDream and then try to save it as an sm?

If so on those, that's your solution. Open .ssc in DDream, save as .sm, open in SM 3.9/4.0, save, and viola, you have a dwi.

But I'm probably wrong somewhere in there. >.>

I'm checking, no idea if it saves a .sm. It should (hopefully).

Why the hell would the Stepmania team make SM5 only save .ssc if their .sm format is the most widespread arrowsmashing format around. That makes about zero sense- hope there's a miscommunication here. Otherwise lol

Well if it makes sm's, then this is easy. Dl and store an old version of sm elsewhere, so you can open the .sm and save it, to create a dwi.

I know that works because when I'd manually change a .sm with notepad I'd delete everything else that wasn't an mp3, and then after I resaved it in sm, all of it would be back.
