I'm pretty sure most of the forum regulars here have been dedicated to some music rhythm game at one time or another, whether it be FFR, Stepmania, ITG, BMS, etc. The vast majority of people who regularly visit the forum probably have had enough interest in FFR to be enticed to participate in the forums.

So basically, almost anyone who sees this and is an FFR member was or is competitive.

I mean I'm sure there are a few people around that really do play just to play but the majority that actually participate in the community typically seem to have a driving factor as to why they play.

I don't mind watching others compete though, that's mildly interesting to me.

I play non-competitively, but I still try to do the best I can on the songs I play. But, I could care less about my ranks or entering tournaments, so I put down non.

I fall under the competitive category and have been for over 3 years but right now I am losing the want to compete since I havent improved at all over the past month or 2 making me think I have reached my max potential, which is sad.

As of right now if I want to be competitive then I play on FFR.
If I want to play for fun then I go onto the DF engine and play songs I like there !

I've always been a competitive person. For me personally, I get competitive when its about FCing/AAAing songs in the game, even trying to 100% the games that I have. And yes, I had some cases where I become so damn competitive in playing Scrabble, Monopoly, Chess, anything that you think of. In which that has contributed to making me competitive for FCs and AAAs in this game and SM. I have to admit though, aside with competing with friends that I personally know and the people online, I always hated losing (but I don't go KBC whenever I lose hehehe...besides, doesn't that spoil the fun as well? I may be extremely competitive but I'm always a good sport whenever something goes against me hehehe). But I just think that competition (which I do think that setting a personal goal is an indirect way of competition) is what strives the gaming communities in general. I mean, I'm not saying that everyne is competitive but I'm just saying it in my perspective since my friends were competitive in other games as well.

I don't think I'll ever be good enough to be competitive... also I have a certain degree of incurable lag that makes me think getting a lot of 10 AAA's or an FMO AAA might be impossible unless I get a new computer or something. I do like to improve my ranks, though.

I play for leisure, though I do find is satisfying to see my FC and AAA bars higher.
