Re: Widgits
I actually liked some of the bands that were in the widgets, just sucked that the charts were not good enough to make the songs playable. Guess thats what happens when you got Tass in charge and just wanted people to rush out charts just so the songs can be stepped.Comment

Re: Widgits
Widgets were a great promotion tool; honestly, I don't know why FFR stopped, considering FFR never truly went commercial.Comment

Re: Widgits
Hey, not all these groups are bad. I can name at least two I like.

Re: Widgits
Well I guess they did help FFR in terms of promotion..
But because FFR never went fully commercial, the semi-low quality steps and songs were kept in-game while FFR never got much out of keeping those songs in game.
Not saying long rock songs are bad, but yeah.. you get my drift. There COULD have been better steps!Comment

Re: Widgits
I think widgets were also stepped such that they were accessible to a wider audience. I would imagine it was very much like when considering which songs to put in the Kongregate "trial version."
True, this is generally what happens when music trumps file quality (Tom Savini vs. Greg Nicotero has so much silence at the start!), but we got some good hard stuff out of the deal as well: Beauty Is In The Eyes Of The Beerholder, Doomsayer, and Blooddrunk come to mind.
It was a great idea, and I'd love to see the concept get revived, mainly because we know now that the wider audience these files will enjoy is all the more reason NOT to cut corners on file quality.Originally posted by thesunfanI literally spent 10 minutes in the library looking for the TWG forum on Smogon and couldn't find it what the fuck is this witchcraft IGR
