Re: Any way to reduce lag??
First, I'll recommend the Adobe Flash Player 9 standalone player. Flash 10 does not work very well with FFR, so many players use Flash 8 and/or 9.
Flash 9 Standalone (Windows): http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...shplayer_9.exe
After downloading, log into FFR using Internet Explorer, making sure that you check off the "Remember Me" box. Otherwise, your player data won't be read on the standalone player.
Second, your OS makes a huge difference. If you're on Vista/7, disabling Aero makes a huge difference. Setting your computer for best performance rather than best appearance in any case will eliminate lag. Unfortunately, if you're on a Vista OS, you're still going to struggle with lag, as it is infamous for giving fairly consistent spikes (coined Vista lag, or "vis lag").
If you are using a Mac, I can't offer too much help because I've never owned one. There is a standalone for Mac as well, but I'm not sure if you are able to log into the standalone on a Mac.
Flash 9 Standalone (Mac): http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...ayer_9.app.zip
Also, is your computer strong enough to handle the game itself?Last edited by TC_Halogen; 05-24-2011, 12:55 AM. -

I still don't quite get why everyone complains so much about Vista. When my desktop was in the shop I played on a crappy old rented laptop with Vista for a couple weeks. Just turned Aero off, and had Velo's engine in one tab and my levelranks in the other. No lag.

Re: Any way to reduce lag??
How good your computer is does not matter. FFR is unplayable in flash 10. I have been using standalone for as long as I can remember.
Just so you know here is my stats to prove ffr is unplayable on 10 on any computer out there:
3.2Ghz intel quad OCed to 3.6Ghz
Two GTX 460Comment
