What to do?

Okay, I am starting to feel that I am at my limit. Yeah, I can play well, and yeah I can FC qutie a bit in the game, but I can't seem to play 11s and 12s without mashing.

What do I do? I play index, and spread play only makes me worse. My multiplier is at 1.95.

Well, you won't be able to play some of the 11/12s at all without spread. A lot of the songs have hands (3 notes at the same time) or quads (4 at the same time) and you can't hit that with index. I suggest trying to FC all 8s you have left with spread, then work up to 9s, and so on. Try a setup like QWOP or ASKL or something like that. I find it helps to separate the keys so my thumbs don't bug eachother.

What about trills between as or lk? That would mess me up badly.

Spread does have its disadvantages to index, but the pros greatly outweigh the cons. Left and right handed trills might be tricky, but with practice they aren't impossible. I know it seems like you might do worse with spread, but thats because your so used to index. Practice it for a few months, and you will be surprised how much better you can do on 11s and 12s.

And even so, you can overcome the whole one-handed trill thing by switching to a setup like m,./ which isn't much different, and just index them.

IMO lower your scroll rate speed from 1.95x down to 1.85x or lower. Apparently to many, 1.75x is ideal.

Thanks all! I managed to pass an 11 200 ranks higher with spread! Hehe! I can see how to do all those quick arrows now.

It took me about 2-3 weeks to get spread down pretty solid. Just practice!

Ah, well, for some people it takes longer. If you keep practicing you will get it eventually! Yeah, as others said... try playing with 1.75, 1.85 (works best for me)... just mess around with different speeds and see which best fits you.

Trust me, I got discouraged and wanted to go back to one-handed many times but I kept practicing and finally got it down.
