Member Map?

IIRC, a while back (probably a year before the site went down?) there was an actual clickable map of the world/US/whatever that showed icons of positions of FFR members who signed up for it. Don't remember the specific details but I thought it was cool you would easily be able to locate others on the site living around your area.

Any idea on whatever happened to that? Any way on getting it back? I thought it was a great idea, just randomly popped into my head as I was searching through the site's features.

That map was very cool. I really liked it, despite only learning that no one in Indiana plays FFR.

The map was too America-centric. America's not the world ya know...

Also, there was a bug that just happened to emphasize that. Although there were more generalized maps (see: less specific) of other countries, users from other countries couldn't pin their locations onto the map*. Only American members could. The reason was unknown. Since it was a bug, it had nothing to do with exclusionary purposes. Coincidentally though, the bug only made this feature more America-centric.


*To elaborate, you had to click a link which directs you to a separate website that contained the map and pins. For non-American users, the link would result in a blank screen.

Yeah I thought it was a cool idea. If the bug issue could be fixed and could be made a world map that can be zoomed in to the countries you clicked on I think it would be really sweet.

Also, more detailed maps! 7 or so maps for the US and 1 map for Canada? Screw that.

How about a custom map, that adds a pin depending on your ISP.

I play FFR in Indiana... Oh and I would be happy if they brought the map back. It was just fun too see where the FFRers live.
