    FFR Medley -project-

I'm starting up a project to compose a piano medley for FFR, and I've gotten into the hobby of writing music using a program called Sibelius 6. I'm still an amateur at using the program, but my creativity and passion for writing music hasn't dimmed down. So far I'm playing lots of pieces by ear and I would love to create a medley for FFR.

If anyone would like to do a collab with me on writing such a medley, please contact me at [email protected] (through MSN) or simply through inbox here at FFR, since I'm always browsing the forums here.

Right now I'm working on a piece I've played by ear called "Heart of Witch" by ReX. I have this song for Stepmania and I think the instruments are very well in harmony. It's almost finished to be exact, I just have to finish the ending then adjust the dynamics through each part.

So far, the songs I have in mind for this (hopefully at least 10 minute) medley (in no specific order) are:

    October by DJ Cristo
    Vertex Beta by Silvia
Torinouta by DJ Sharpnel (original by key)
    BB Evolution by AKHT
    ==Planet Karma== by Stephen Kay

There may not be that many songs to use for a piano medley, but I'll try my best to be open to your ideas and opinions.

Note that I might not exactly use all of the songs I've listed here as I'll be considering requests.

    Thanks for reading this,

    LJ

People who are willing to collab:

Using Planet Karma in a medley would be difficult because the song itself has many movements.

October and Beta would make for good medley material, although the main and running melody of October is a piano. Have you thought about Starwolf? It goes in and out from synths and piano -- it would be cool to have the synth parts transcribed.

This is perfect, Starwolf's introduction hits the spot and after the "Superwolf".
If anyone's wondering about any key changes in between songs, I will probably not change the key from the original but instead, transition to that original key.

For ==Planet Karma==, there was only one part I was thinking about: it involves a piano roll and arpeggios going towards the higher octave. (I think it was in the first minute of the song). But if it's too fast for a medley then I'll consider not putting it in.

Anyone have any ideas for a brilliant introduction for introducing "FFR"? Perhaps I could work it out from there too

^ This. (Also what Yosh said.)

As for an appropriate climax--or difficulty spike, depending on your point of view--I'm thinking one of our several wonderful Classical piano pieces. (What is it about piano music lending itself to hard files?) I'm thinking either Molto or Revo, the latter being perhaps a bit more recognizable due to it being the basis for DDR's Kakumei.

The difficulty in playing this song will be a realistic one.. not "impossible to play" like Death Piano (since it's a piano quartet) but at the same time it's meant for the more "experienced" musicians.

edit: I've thought of some good songs, like Twilight Jewel and Cette Annee, a soothing feeling that everyone loves hearing

Kidney Stone has a great melody, maybe Scythe of 13 and Sympathizer, I would say Guitar vs. Piano too (easier due to already having piano, nothing wrong with that).

I was thinking of putting Kidney Stone into the medley, but it sounds far too repetitive :S
                  Even for like 5 seconds

Guitar vs Piano, I haven't heard that song in ages, I'll give it a good listen.

Summer Time perfume for sure! Also, Wish for FFR, and Gradeus possibly? Those all are execellent candidates in my opinion.

Ride Out is catchy (again, repetitive, but I played Kidney Stone again and you're right; it'd wouldn't be good). However Horizon and AAA seem pretty good, especially the long solo run in AAA, and R176 seems like it would be good as well.

You should add some Blue Rose to the mix.

I could possibly help out with production though I use FL studio So I don't know how smoothe it would go compatibility wise :/ though it's possible to make it work.
