    Lag Issues

I didn't have lag running FFR on a pile of shit computer way back before it died, but now I have a new one and get split second freezes at consistent spots in a lot of simfiles, e.g. I tried over and over but could not perfect the 42nd note in Power Rangers. Anyone else had issues like this?
Best Scores: Love-Colored Master Spark AAA, Mute City Remix AAA, Over the Rave AAA, TGWP3 3 good.

    I'm not good anymore.

      Re: Lag Issues

I've got a decent machine here playing the game and it seems to lag more and more through a song as it goes through it. This computer can play the newest PC games with high specs too so I don't see why a simple flash game like this lags...

There seems to be an issue for many users with Flash 10. If you know how to downgrade, you can try downgrading to Flash 8 or 9. If that's not an option for you, there's the option of using a standalone flash player. Also, try to optimize performance on your computer by closing out excess programs. Reducing visual effects on your computer will also help.

Where do I get a standalone and how do I use it

You can get a flash 8 standalone here http://www.mediafire.com/?yhay5pin2b2wdo2 when you open up the flash player go to file/open and put in http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/ffrndanotherway.swf

How do I login on a standalone?

For you to be logged in on the standalone player, you must log in on internet explorer and click remember me. Before doing this, make sure you go into the security settings on IE and uncheck the box that says Enable Protected Mode. Once you uncheck that, hit apply then close out IE. Reopen IE and log into FFR, making sure you check "Remember Me". Then, reopen your standalone. You should now be logged in.
Use the standalone. It helps tons.

Are you using Flash 8 Standalone or Flash 9?

I found that Flash 9 is significantly better, but I don't have a link for it.

                Muchas Gracias. It works perfectly.

@above, is there any reason to use 9 if I'm using his link to 8 and it works fine?

wow, flash 9 reduced my lag significantly, thanks for suggesting it

                  @halo: thanks for the link

How would I log into the standalone on Mac? I'm using TenFourFox (a PPC version of Firefox 4)?

Edit: I actually went and got IE5 for Mac, God the formating for this site on IE is awful. I finally figured out how to log in, but it's the same deal as FF/TFF, I'm logged in as anonymous in Flash Player.

Damn. I really like how smooth it is in the Flash 9 standalone. I'm sporting a bad ass eMac PPC 1.25Ghz G4, so even on the lowest quality it has random freezes during songs. Makes FC'ing hard, let alone AAA's.. (Got my first on Excite Bike the other day )

In the stand alone it's perfect, except I can't log in so there's no point.
