well i guess that came out wrong...
ill give that a run sometime, see how that goes. for now ive just bumped up to 1.7 and its working as far as being able to read easier. havent really tried the harder songs yet though. im going to stick to the D7/8 songs till i get used to the speed bump.
yep your reaction time is balls right now because you arent used to the speed yet even though you can read it perfectly fine
fuck that shit. play an hour or two at 2.5 and then switch to 1.7 and you'll be like FUCK SHIT THIS IS EASY TO READ COMPARED TO 2.5 LOL I'LL JUST STICK TO THIS XD
lol, for me it's like this is soo slowww, good good good good good good good av good

yeah no shit i cant even come close to an FC on anything LOL and on top of that i went from playing on CVBN to ASKL and it messed me up...i can barely hit double notes becuase im not used to my fingers having so much room LOL i really think it threw off my coordination.
When I tried going from arrow keys to ASKL, I noticed that my right index finger had a tendency to drift upwards to the I key. This made sense once I realized that it was muscle memory of the finger being a little higher to hit what it thought was the up arrow key after playing that way for something like 5 years.
The smallest setup change can have a huge impact on your speed and accuracy, even if you can read a file perfectly fine. Above all, find a position and speed that's comfortable for you and stick to it. Macgravel won fame some time ago for playing one-handed on 1x and getting very good scores, so it's really a matter of how much time and effort you want to spend mastering a certain setup.

I find myself unable to switch from a close setup that is efgy/thji to something more conventional like askl because I'm so use to efgy I am unable to switch

I switched from ASKL to QWOP and actually felt more comfortable and did a lot better >.> whenever I do a key setup change, I improve, I don't know why :/

i dont really think its the keys that screw me up, i think its more being used to my hands being so close together. i played one hand when i first started, moved to two hands on the arrows, then went to index, and thats when i was actually good at this LOL, then i went back to two hands but i moved over to the CVBN setup and i havent changed since. i guess im still trying to find what suits me and honestly i think im going to try and go back to index, because thats what really made me half way decent at this game.
I play x2... It shouldn't be so fast that you cant read in time to hit a perfect without being all stressed out and it shouldn't be so slow that you can't read or hit perfects.
btw, C1000 is like 3x no? I've tried it on stepmania but its like impossible... how does alexdest play on that speed?
AlexDest plays with Hallway. Overhead is a different story when it comes to the speed changes but it is the default setting.
I play pretty high speeds on Distant since I removed the score border thing at the bottom.
I used to play C870 now it's C900 Distant, which is around C750 on Overhead.
