    Can't connect to Multiplayer

So glad that FFR is back up after all of it's downtime, yet I can't access my favorite feature. I have noticed some people commenting about multiplayer, so I assume it is still up.

Each time I try, I get "Can't Connect". Anyone have a possible fix? I used to play all the time without problem.

Any troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

        Re: Can't connect to Multiplayer

Using that link, I still haven't been able to connect ever since it went up.

Why? :[ I want to play MP.

            Re: Can't connect to Multiplayer

Don't mean to sound annoying or anything, but does anyone have a solution to this?

Velocity won't let me connect to MP and it's a little upsetting, I shouldn't have to forward ports in order to connect (I understand the issues here, I can patiently wait assuming there WILL be a fix for this.)

So, first question: Will there be a fix to the multiplayer to allow everyone access the way it was before?

Second question: What ports require forwarding, and is there any way to bypass forwarding via router because I don't have access to the network in my Uncles house and I can't be bothered to ask for permissions.

            Thanks.

              Re: Can't connect to Multiplayer

              Here's what you do guys.

You click Multiplayer- It says connecting. Wait 10 SECONDS (it should still say connecting) then click the button that reverts the thing to before you clicked Multiplayer. Then click Multiplayer AGAIN. This time it should connect without any trouble (just wait).

This works for me fine, and if I simply click Multiplayer straight away without going back while it is connecting and reclicking Multiplayer, it says 'Can't Connect to Multiplayer' and won't let me do anything else. This way should fix it if your situation is the same as mine (you must do this every time you want to connect to multiplayer).

              Hope I helped.

                Re: Can't connect to Multiplayer

Saying that you shouldn't have to change any settings is wrong -- change settings to accommodate for the server, because the settings on the server won't be changed to accommodate for you (as this would mess other people up).

As far as not being able to connect, it's a fairly sporadic problem and doesn't happen to most people. I helped someone with port forwarding suggestions for their wireless router and it allowed them to get onto FFR's MP.

                EDIT:

8080 and 8082, both inbound and outbound. I'm pretty sure you have to do it through the router.

My apologies, I understand what I said was wrong; I was just frustrated. I've forwarded ports to accommodate plenty of times, it's just this time I'm unable to so it kinda sucks that I can't play against other people like I used to.

Thanks for the input and the ports.
