background info (skip this if you're lazy):
I've been playing FFR for roughly 5 years, and I stopped playing couple months before the site went down. Since that time, I've gotten a classical guitar teacher and started practicing my guitar every day. You may ask, how could this be relevant to FFR?
technique
My guitar teacher has worked with me a lot on using correct posture and technique with my fingers and arms while playing guitar, and I have noticed immediate results. Since I've started playing FFR again, I've applied the same mindset to my gameplaying, and I've noticed significantly less pain in my forarms after playing hard, and even more precise playing. This thread is designed input on the techniques you use while playing FFR that increase precision and eliminate soreness. So please, tell me what techniques you do to improve your playing!
technique:
I've realized that the reason why my forearms used to get sore after playing hard was because my wrist was below the keyboard, so it made my hands arch upwards. When I would tap hard, it would create tension in my forearms. To deal with this problem, I've placed two post-it note stacks under my wrists to elevate my hands so they're on level with the keys. It doesn't have to be post-it notes, just anything that elevates the hands. This isolates the hands, preventing the muscles from my arms from tensing up. I would also recommend placing your arms/elbows on your desk or on your legs. Overall, your arms should not be suspended in the air and your arms, wrists, and fingers should be linear.
When my eyes get dry during the middle of a song, I will sometimes wink one eye at a time so I don't miss any notes and my eyes don't get too dry.
